All five People Who Went on the Submarine to see the Titanic Wreck Died
Five people aboard a tourist submarine to see the century-old wreck of the Titanic have been declared dead.
A submarine carrying five people on a voyage to the century-old wreck of the Titanic was found in pieces after a “catastrophic explosion”, the BBC reports.
Those killed are 58-year-old Hamish Harding, 48-year-old Shahzada Daoud and his son Suleiman Daoud, 19, Paul-Henri Nargolet, 77, and Stockton Rush, 61.
The US Coast Guard said that the five-day long search operation ended with this announcement.
According to the BBC, a robotic diving vehicle deployed from a Canadian ship found five parts of the submarine Titan about 487 meters from the Titanic on Thursday. The noises reported earlier this week are now believed to be coming from other ships in the area.
